At 988 Sacramento, we provide compassionate, confidential support to those in crisis. Our trained counselors assess risk levels, addressing medical emergencies or imminent risks of suicide or harm. Working collaboratively with callers, we de-escalate crises, develop safety plans, and connect individuals with resources for stabilization and long-term support. When needed—and typically with full consent of the individual—we can engage mobile crisis services, crisis stabilization, or substance use support. Free short-term follow-up calls are also available to ensure continued safety and well-being.
